Who wins? ECU 34-17 Why? The Pirates lost by 25 last weekend, but Gardner Minshew completed an ECU and American Athletic Conference record of 52 passes, while passing for 463 yards. Scottie Montgomery said in his weekly press conference he planned to bench Thomas Sirk, and it would be an uneducated decision to start Sirk anymore this season. The way Minshew takes deep shots and connects with receivers is a skill Sirk can’t seem to find. ECU needs a QB who takes shots and wants to win. Minshew’s chippy attitude on and off the field shows he wants to prove everyone wrong and win.
