James Summers was a versatile player for the East Carolina football team on Saturday, which according to ECU coach Ruffin McNeill, is something Pirate fans can expect to see in the future.
After being a fill-in quarterback and occasional starting QB for most of the season, Summers lined up mostly at running back and slot receiver when he was in the game for the Pirates’ 19-16 loss to Cincinnati in their season finale on Saturday.
Summers’ only pass was a 2-yard touchdown toss to Bryce Williams that created a 16-16 tie.
