Spang was awarded Second-team All-American honors, which is the first ever by a Pirate. She also was unanimously awarded First-Team All-Conference. She also finished ranked 10th in the country, which is the highest rank a player at ECU has been.
“She’s had a special year and is extremely talented,” said ECU’s head women’s golf coach Kevin Williams. “We have felt like the past three years she is good enough to be All-American those three years, but she never put it together mentally. Her maturity now has helped her so much.”
Looking forward, Spang will look to continue her golfing career and will be playing qualifiers to hopefully make it into the LPGA tour.
