Even though he's just a freshman, East Carolina University men’s basketball guard Shawn Williams' game has garnered him three collegiate starts and a few accolades along the way.
For the second time this season, Williams has been named the American Athletic Conference's Rookie-of-the-Week. He won his first award on Dec. 4, after games with the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Delaware State in which he averaged 13.5 points.
ECU (8-11, 2-6 AAC) traveled on Saturday to No. 9 University of Cincinnati (17-2, 6-0 AAC) and Williams got off to a fantastic start. He scored 13 of his team-high 15 points in the first half and didn't miss his first five shots.
