White had one of the best performances of his career, grabbing a career-high 28 points during the game. The outing put his career points total at 1,545, which is fourth all-time in school history and second in the Division I era.
When it was all said and done, White and his teammates, including fellow seniors Michel Nzege and Andre Washington, met at center court to celebrate a hard-fought victory with emotional implications.
“It didn’t hit me at the time,” White said. “I was expecting it to. I thought I was going to cry in that moment because I knew it was going to hit me at some point.
