“Our secondary right now after two days of ball, looks extremely strong,” said head coach Scottie Montgomery.
ECU has often had decent talent in the defensive backfield, but always struggled to put that talent together and has been the victim to a lot of passing offenses in the past. However, this year’s secondary brings a lot to the table, which previous teams lacked.
“We’re longer, we’re faster, we’re after the football, we’re chasing,” said Montgomery. “There is a great amount of leadership coming from that position, they hold each other accountable and it makes us feel good when we got guys on the edges at the corner position that have played a lot of football.
