The new week brought a flurry of possibilities as to who will be chosen to lead the East Carolina football team next season, but no concrete action occurred in replacing the fired Ruffin McNeill.
ECU director of athletics Jeff Compher reportedly held a strategy session on Monday morning regarding the school’s coaching vacancy, which came on the heels of Compher’s Friday announcement that McNeill was out after six seasons and compiling a winning overall record.
While it was rumored that former Auburn head coach and current North Carolina defensive coordinator Gene Chizik was in the running and might possibly have interviewed in some manner on Monday, it does not appear Chizik was in Greenville.
