East Carolina apparently has its defensive coordinator picked for next season.
Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans reported on Tuesday that Vanderbilt associate head coach and linebackers coach Kenwick Thompson is set to be named new defensive coordinator at East Carolina. There was no official release from ECU on Tuesday.
Scottie Montgomery has been busy looking to fill out his coaching staff since being introduced as ECU’s head man on Dec. 14. Montgomery will also serve as Duke’s offensive coordinator for the Blue Devils’ bowl game in New York on Saturday.
Prior to his two seasons at Vanderbilt, Thompson served as a defensive assistant for multiple seasons at both California and San Jose State.
