A lot of talk this week for the Virginia Tech-East Carolina football game centered around East Carolina’s receivers and how they beat Virginia Tech defensive backs often in 1-on-1 matchups last year to spark a 28-21 win in Blacksburg, Va.
Cam Worthy was the breakout player and a key target in that one, hauling in six receptions for 224 yards.
It was more of a collective effort on Saturday — Trevon Brown did the bulk of the damage in the first half and Isaiah Jones in the second — and the Pirates put up their most prolific offensive output ever against the Hokies in a 35-28 win.
