East Carolina basketball coach Jeff Lebo has juggled his starting lineups and repeatedly gone to his bench early in games this season, hoping to give the Pirates a jolt as they have struggled with slow starts.
Lebo’s club labored through another sluggish beginning on Sunday afternoon against North Carolina A&T, but sparked by a timely scoring binge from B.J. Tyson and Charles Foster’s ECU career-high 13 points, the Pirates remained unbeaten in Minges Coliseum after recording a 71-60 victory over the visiting Aggies.
Tyson, who finished with a team-high 21 points, did not score until hitting an acrobatic jumper with 6:39 left in the first half, but that basket sent him off and running.
