East Carolina University's soccer’s undefeated streak wasn’t just snapped over the weekend, but the team earned its first losing streak of the season after back-to-back losses to NC State and UNC Charlotte.
The Pirates had a lot of demons to exorcise coming into Sunday’s match against UNCC, as ECU is 5-7-1 all-time against the 49ers, and 2-4 all-time on the road against Charlotte.
Despite getting outshot 10-4 in the first half, the Pirates struck first when forward Cashlin Copley scored the first goal of the game to put them up 1-0 at the 14th minute, which was also good for her second goal of the season.
