The No.11 ranked East Carolina University baseball team closed out its trip to the University of Washington with a 7-2 victory in the series rubber match, propelling the Pirates to another series victory.
The Huskies (14-14, 6-3 PAC 12) scored first to take a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning thanks to an RBI infield single to third from junior first baseman Willie MacIver. ECU responded in the fifth inning on a three-run homer from sophomore designated hitter Bryant Packard, giving the Pirates a two-run lead, 3-1. The Pirates (24-7, 4-2 AAC) added another run in the sixth when senior center fielder Andrew Henrickson's RBI single up the middle brought sophomore first baseman Spencer Brickhouse around to score.
