ECU swept the doubles matches with three convincing victories including James Ling and Fredric Lehfeldt’s win over Davide Callegari and Maksym Konoval, 6-1.
Ronny Georgi and Will Bissett also came away victorious as they defeated Sebastian Bromley and Brooks Campbell 6-2 in their match. Freddie McGeehan and Kasey Countee had a bigger test in their matchup against Gabriel Cucalon and Theo Kontopoulos but were able to pull out a victory on match point, 7-6 (6-0).
In the singles’ matches, five of the six players for ECU won their matches in two sets. McGeehan took on the Eagles top scorer, Cucalon, and although he lost in the first set 6-3, he came back and won the next two sets 6-3 and 6-2 to defeat Cucalon.
