East Carolina’s basketball team will chalk up a few firsts in the next four days.
The Pirates (2-0) left Greenville on Wednesday for their first road trip of the young season and their destination was Berkeley, Calif., where the California Bears await the first-ever meeting between the teams tonight at 11 o’clock (EST). Cal is ranked 15th by the Associated Press, and sixth-year ECU coach Jeff Lebo is well aware of the challenge the Bears (2-0) present.
“A huge test, two of them,” Lebo said, referring tonight’s game and Monday’s matchup at San Diego State, another first-time Pirate opponent.
