The East Carolina Pirates returned to practice Sunday afternoon following the defense’s impressive showing in the inter-team scrimmage on Saturday.
Sunday’s 75 minute practice, conducted in shorts and helmets, was focused on cleaning up the mistakes second year head coach Scottie Montgomery saw the day prior. While he was impressed with his defense during the scrimmage, Montgomery saw plenty of things to fix while watching the film.
“I was satisfied with our effort today following a physical scrimmage,” Montgomery said. “We came back today and cleaned up some things on the defensive side of the ball, such as alignment and communication, that I didn’t see yesterday until watching film.
