Terrell Stanley’s facial expression likely spoke for his entire team after practice.
When asked how big it was for the 1-2 East Carolina football team to be back home in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium this weekend after two difficult road losses to Florida and Navy, Stanley, a senior defensive end who returned this season after more than a year away following a serious car accident, unfurled a relieved smile.
“It’s very important for us because we lost two very tough games, and it’s nice to get off the road and get back in Dowdy-Ficklen and play in front of our fans,” said Stanley, who has wrapped up 11 tackles, including one stop for loss, this season.
