The East Carolina University’s swim and dive team traveled to Baltimore, Maryland to take on the University of Maryland Baltimore County and the Virginia Military Institute in a tri-meet Saturday afternoon.
The ECU women had a close meet with UMBC as both teams placed first in seven events. Senior swimmer Julie Lajoie earned three of those seven first place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.19), the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.33) and the 200-yard Individual Medley (2:05.91).
“Lajoie just continues to add to her career season, she has earned every bit of success she's had. (I’m) really proud of her effort and performance meet in and meet out,” ECU head coach Matthew Jabs said.
