Pirates overmatched by Memphis in final game of 2017 season

East Carolina University’s football team traveled to the University of Memphis for the final game of the 2017 season Saturday and were destroyed, 70-13.

The Pirates (3-9, 2-6 AAC) gave up 70 points, ending the season on a low note and now head into the offseason with major questions.

The Tigers (10-1, 7-1 AAC) scored on every single possession, except the final drive running the clock out. NFL-hopeful quarterback Riley Ferguson didn't have a heavy workload but was successful when he was called upon to air it out, completing nine out of 13 passing attempts for 299 yards and three touchdowns.
