Before conference play began, East Carolina University’s soccer team was coming off its best start in program history with a 5-2-2 record. Since that start, the Pirates have dropped their first four American Athletic Conference games and are now desperately searching for their first conference win.
According to head coach Rob Donnenwirth, players not being healthy has been a difficult obstacle for the Pirates to overcome. With players being out, and other players needing to step up, Donnenwirth thinks it’s very important for his players to utilize the bye week to get back to 100 percent.
“First off, we need to get people healthy,” Donnenwirth said.
