Pirates look to get back in win column

“This is the most adversity I’ve seen on a team that I’ve coached or been around,” McNeil said. “Some of us are going through that in our personal lives, but at the same time, we know we have three games left in this fourth quarter [of the season].”

His comments came after a disappointing and lopsided 31-13 loss at Connecticut on Friday. The loss moved the Pirates (4-5, 2-3 AAC) to below .500 at the nine-game mark for only the second time in the last 10 years.

ECU’s streak of three consecutive bowl appearances is now in jeopardy, as it would have to win two of its last three games for the streak to possibly stay alive.
