Guard B.J Tyson and forwards Kentrell Barkley and Caleb White led the scoring outburst for the Pirates. All three scored in double figures, as Barkley led the way with 21 points, with White following with 20 points and Tyson wrapping it up with 17 points.
“Really relied on the big three this game,” said ECU head coach Jeff Lebo. “I thought Caleb, Kentrell, and B.J. were all really solid tonight. They didn’t turn the ball over much, took care of the ball.”
The Pirates jumped out of the gate hot, leading the Rattlers 46-21 at halftime. The players relaxed some after the break and started losing their intensity, getting outscored in the second half 41-36.
