ORLANDO, Fla. — Connecticut women’s basketball is aiming for a historic fourth consecutive national title this season, and the Huskies are the overwhelming choice to win the American Athletic Conference based on Monday’s preseason poll tallied during AAC media day. Connecticut received all 10 possible first-place votes and was followed in the poll by South Florida, Temple, East Carolina and Tulane to round out the top five.
UConn standout Breanna Stewart was named the preseason Player of the Year and the rest of the first-team consisted of fellow Huskie seniors Moriah Jefferson and Morgan Tuck along with USF’s Alisia Jenkins and Courtney Williams.
