Pirates fantastic freshman recognized nationally

With the super regionals looming, East Carolina baseball team found out their fantastic freshman Dwanya Williams-Sutton was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team.

Williams-Sutton has been a consistent producer in the Pirates lineup since the very first series of the season against Longwood. He's played like he was much older all season long.

He began the season batting in the six hole. Despite being a great hitter, head coach Cliff Godwin kept his freshman in the bottom of the order. Now, he's in the three hole, and he’s continued production.

“Because I was a freshman, I thought they was going to pitch to me differently,” said Williams-Sutton before the regional last week.
