The East Carolina University men’s basketball team finished up a two-game conference road trip on Sunday with a 76-55 loss to the University of Central Florida despite a career and record setting game from the American Athletic Conference co-freshman of the week Jayden Gardner.
The Knights started out hot, hitting seven of their first 12 shots and extended their lead to 18 points with four minutes to go in the first half. The Pirates made a run to end the half, but still trailed by 12 heading into the locker room, 38-26.
The Pirates came out flat in the second half, allowing the Knights to compile a 21-point lead on a 12-3 run.
