This past Sunday in Radford, Virginia, the East Carolina women’s soccer team left home for the first time this season to take on the Radford University Highlanders, but fell to them 1-0.
This loss has now added to ECU’s record making them 0-2-1 while the Highlanders advance to 3-1-0 to open the season.
The first half is where the only goal would come in. At the 27 minute mark, junior midfielder Gabi Paupst passed a ball down the left flank to senior midfielder Nicole Ray. Ray was then able to advance down the field and play a square ball to senior forward Nelia Perez on the back post and she was able to tap it in.
