Pirates fall short at home after furious comeback

It didn’t take long to get a potential best-game-of-the-year inside Minges Coliseum. Last night the East Carolina University’s men’s basketball team (1-1) went head-to-head with Radford University but came up short at the end, losing 73-66.

Three untimely turnovers in the final two minutes and 30 seconds ruined what looked like a ferocious comeback to avoid an early upset. Aaron Jackson, Jabari Craig and Shawn Williams each had a turnover on consecutive possessions while the game hung in the balance. The Highlanders cashed in twice for four points off the ECU freebees and finished the game shooting four-for-four from the field to complete the win.
