The East Carolina University women’s tennis team extended its win streak to 16 straight after getting a 4-0 win against George Washington University on Friday.
The Pirates have only lost two games this season, holding a 16-2 record. Friday’s win also makes it the fourth straight road win for the Pirates. George Washington’s loss to the Pirates makes it the second straight loss for them overall, dropping their record to 6-6.
ECU won two doubles games leaving the third game unfinished Friday afternoon. The first doubles win came from sophomore Alisa Diercksen and junior Lisa Hofbauer who won their match 6-1 against GWU senior Victoria Kogan and junior Melis Bayraktaroglu which gave the Pirates their first point of the afternoon.
