The East Carolina University softball team took on Wichita State University in the second match up of its three game series on Friday and came away with the win, 3-2, coming back from a tough loss on Thursday.
The Pirates (21-24, 3-10 AAC) snapped the Shockers (27-20, 8-6 AAC) six game winning streak in a close 3-2 win. Sophomore right handed pitcher Erin Poepping (14-16) won in the circle with her 18th complete game this season, striking out 10 batters and allowing one run earned.
Both teams went scoreless in the first inning and Wichita State was the first to score of the two in the bottom of the second.
