The East Carolina University men’s basketball team ended its five-game losing streak on Thursday night, defeating Tulane University to get its second win in American Athletic Conference play.
The Pirates (9-11, 2-6 AAC) started the game out slow. They fell behind to the Green Wave (4-16, 0-8 AAC) 5-4 after three minutes of play, trailing through the rest of the first half. But, the Pirates kept themselves in the game by never falling behind by more than eight points.
The team found themselves in foul trouble, with leading scorers freshman Jayden Gardner and sophomore Shawn Williams both picking up two early fouls and playing only six and eight minutes in the half respectively.
