In the first game the Pirates struggled to reach base against a talented Seahawks team that has only lost six games all season. ECU was in the game the entire way, as it was tied 2-2 until the bottom of the fifth inning. A run in the fifth for the Seahawks, as well as four more in the bottom of the sixth inning blew the game open, resulting in a 7-2 UNCW victory as the Pirates were unable to comeback.
Meredith Burroughs added to her team-high in RBI with one in Wednesday’s first game. She also added another in the second game of the doubleheader.
