East Carolina University’s women’s basketball team (12-10, 4-5 AAC) pulled off a jaw dropping 77-67 comeback victory to snap Wichita State University’s five-game winning streak, after entering the fourth quarter with an 11 point deficit.
ECU outscored Wichita State University 30-9 to close out the win but there were times throughout the game where it looked as if it wasn’t going to be the Pirates’ night. ECU shot just 37.9 percent and were outrebounded 23-10 in the first half, while the Shockers jumped out to a 16 point lead early in the third quarter.
The Pirates did not go down without a fight, as they responded from being down 16 points with a 44-19 run to secure their first back-to-back American Athletic Conference win of the season.
