The East Carolina football team is back home after a grueling four away games in five weeks, and despite some bumps along that road, the Pirates’ head coach thinks the difficult stretch has empowered his team.
The team won only one of those road games — two weeks ago against league opponent SMU — but that lone victory could have greater long-term impact than the three losses. Now, ECU (3-3, 1-1 American Athletic Conference) returns to league action for the remainder of the season, beginning with a noon showdown against Tulsa on Saturday in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, where the Pirates are 2-0 this year.
