One recurring theme throughout East Carolina’s football loss to Temple last week was yellow.
The two teams combined for 21 penalty flags in the game with the visiting Owls managing to escape with a win after being charged with 12 of those infractions for more than 100 yards.
ECU’s nine transgressions for 99 yards seemed to hurt more, and a few of them were 15-yard personal fouls charged against veteran players. That has been an early-season theme for the Pirates (4-4, 2-2 American Athletic Conference), who hope to play by the letter of the law on Friday night at Connecticut.
