The Pirates (5-6, 3-4 American Athletic Conference) accounted for 610 yards on the night, as they seemingly had little trouble moving the ball against the struggling UCF defense.
“This team played with a lot of heart and I was proud of the guys,” ECU head coach Ruffin McNeill said after the victory. “We have been banged up. Blake [Kemp] did a great job tonight distributing the ball. It was a great team win. The team won this game.”
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for ECU, as the team struggled vitally offensively as of late, something that it turned around Thursday night.
