Temple (7-0, 4-0 AAC) limited the Pirate offense to just 14 points, pitching a shutout in the second half. It was the first time since 2012, against UNC, that the Pirates were held scoreless in a half.
“They’re a good team,” said Kemp, after the 24-14 loss. “They all played really hard. We respected them, but we kind of shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and penalties.”
If there’s one thing that has been consistent about ECU’s offense this season, it’s those turnovers and penalties. On Thursday night, Temple forced two second-half turnovers, an Anthony Scott fumble, and a Kemp interception.
