Pirate offense fails to set sail at UConn

Despite the defense allowing an abundance of points, the Pirates (4-5, 2-3 AAC) were constantly lacking momentum, being held back by their rhythmless offense.

The Pirates started quarterback James Summers and left him in through the first three quarters, as they wanted him to get in the groove of the game. Summers faltered vitally however and was hard pressed to get a first down, let alone a touchdown. The Pirates were limited to five three-and-outs with Summers at the helm.

Summers was replaced by fellow quarterback Blake Kemp in the fourth quarter, but to no avail, as the offense’s struggles continued.
