The East Carolina University men’s golf team traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, this past weekend to compete in the General Hackler Championship at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club, finishing seventh out of 15 teams.
The Pirates finished the tournament with a three-day score of 11-over-par, 875 (292-296-287). The team shot one-under-par, 287, in the final round of the tournament, which was the fifth lowest round of the day. The match consisted of three rounds played over two days, with the first two rounds coming on Saturday. The Pirates secured a top-10 finish with improved play in the final round on Sunday, as senior Tim Conover (72), redshirt senior Jakson Spires (71) and sophomore Blake Taylor (71) all finished their final round at or below par.
