The East Carolina University football program announced Friday that Kirk Doll would be returning to the program as the special teams coordinator.
Doll, who led the special teams and running backs as a coach for the Pirates from 2012-15, returns to the program after serving as the special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach at Florida Atlantic University in 2016.
Doll played defensive end for the Pirates in the early 70’s, and became the second former Pirate athlete to be hired this offseason, joining David Blackwell who was hired as defensive coordinator last week.
“It has become clear to me that surrounding yourself with quality people who offer a tremendous amount of experience like Kirk is a critical component of success,” head coach Scottie Montgomery said in the press release.
