Jada Payne went 0-for-2 from 3-point range for the East Carolina women’s basketball team on Tuesday night, but the Pirates still racked up 87 points in a rout of Alcorn State in Minges Coliseum.
Payne, the best 3-point shooter in ECU history, doesn’t seem to be taking as many 3s during the early part of her senior year, but that doesn’t mean her scoring has suffered. The Hickory native and 6-foot-2 wing player enters today’s game at Delaware averaging nearly a double-double — 21.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game — despite ranking third on the team in 3s made and fifth in attempts.
