Multiple football athletes transfer from ECU

The first Pirate to depart from ECU was redshirt senior running back Derrell Scott on Jan. 8. This is Scott’s second transfer in his collegiate career, with his first resulting in him coming to ECU from the University of Tennessee. The four-star recruit from Havelock, North Carolina, joined ECU’s program in 2015 as a redshirt sophomore.

Redshirt senior running back Devin Anderson was the second to leave the program on Jan. 9. Anderson came to the program before the 2016-17 season as a walk-on for head coach Scottie Montgomery’s first year with the ECU program. The running back from Henderson, North Carolina earned a scholarship with the program heading into the 2017-18 season after recording 57 carries for 258 yards in just 11 games.
