Montgomery’s quest potentially shadowed by McNeill’s dynasty

For students who don’t graduate this year, this story may sound like a fairytale. For my fellow seniors, the East Carolina vs UNC Chapel Hill game is a sporting event we’ll never forget.

The year was 2014 and the Pirates were coming fresh off a win in Blacksburg, Virginia against Virginia Tech boasting a 2-1 record. Instate power house and rival UNC was making the trip to Greenville for what it saw as another win. However, when the game ended, Pirates quarterback Shane Carden and wide receiver Justin Hardy had helped ECU accumulate over 700 yards and win the game 70-41.
