After starting the season 5-4, the East Carolina University men’s basketball team has shown signs of promise that could help the team move forward in a positive direction.
The first five games of the season, the Pirates played without sophomore guard Shawn Williams, the team’s best three point shooter and best free throw shooter. Two of the four losses and three of the five wins have all been decided by less than six points.
“We have to learn how to win and it’s easier said than done,” head coach Joe Dooley said. “I think from a confidence standpoint, the only way to get confident is to win and we have had a lot of close games already.
