The East Carolina University men’s basketball team fell to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, 55-49, for its third straight road loss this season.
ECU (6-5) entered Tuesday on a two game winning streak, including a 23-point win at home against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. It looked to bring dominant play on both ends to the 49ers (3-5), but that did not happen as it would finish on the losing end of a low scoring affair.
The first half was a back and forth battle through the first 14 minutes of the period. The Pirates went up 21-20 with 6:10 left thanks to a jumper from freshman forward Jayden Gardner.
