The East Carolina University which entered the season with high expectations had those expectations tempered Friday night in a 79-54 loss to Georgia Tech.
Freshman forward Jayden Gardner led the way for ECU (2-2) with 13 points, while freshman guard DeShaun Wade added 12 and redshirt junior forward Seth LeDay contributed nine off the bench.
ECU played sloppy the entire game, committing 22 turnovers and shot just 2-for-17 on three pointers. On the other side Georgia Tech shot 9-of-17 on three pointers, a 52.9 percent clip allowed by the Pirates, who kept their first three opponents under 30 percent from three.
