The East Carolina University lacrosse team lost its first game of the season on Sunday to ranked No. 3 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, getting demolished, 3-21.
Coming off of back-to-back wins at home during opening weekend against Gardner-Webb University (0-1), 18-11, and Winthrop University (0-3), 13-12, ECU instilled confidence in its team going into the matchup on Sunday. After these two games, the Pirates (2-1) have already matched their number of wins from the 2018 season with two.
The Pirates were unable to score a goal until the second half, going 0-15 against the Tar Heels (3-0) in the first half.
