Kruczynski had a special season all year for the Pirates. The lefty started 17 games for the Pirates this year, in the games he started the Pirates were 14-3, including last Friday’s super regional win-the first in program’s history. He won the triple crown of pitching on the team, leading the team in ERA, strikeouts, and wins, for the 11th time in program history.
Kruczynski was impressive to watch as he went deep in starts consistently, notching 14 high quality starts this season (six innings pitched allowing three or less earned runs). “Krucz Kontrol” every Friday night as he usually battled against the other team’s ace in a battle to see which team could crack the code first.
