East Carolina women’s basketball coach Heather Macy said recently she wants her team to win on the road and dominate in Minges Coliseum in non-conference play.
The latter happened on Tuesday night in the Pirates’ first opportunity.
ECU led wire-to-wire versus Alcorn State in the Pirates’ home opener, leading by double digits most of the game in an 87-58 victory. ECU (3-0) plays at home on Friday at 11:30 a.m. against Presbyterian, and doesn’t return to Minges until Jan. 2.
Indiana State transfer Marina Laramie — an agile 6-foot-2 post player — continued the hot start to her first active season as a Pirate, scoring a game-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting.
