Homecoming weekend at East Carolina University ended on a high-note with the Pirates' football team claiming its second victory of the season, and its first inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, with a dominating 33-17 win over Brigham Young University Saturday night.
Before the game started, another plane was spotted circling Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, but instead of the infamous ‘Fire Compher! Go Pirates!’ slogan, this banner read ‘We Believe, Go Pirates, Argh.’ The belief was well earned when game time rolled around and the Pirates (2-6; 1-3 AAC) controlled the game from start to finish, trailing just one time, 7-0, thanks to a Quay Johnson fumble on the second play of the game that set the Cougars up at the doorstep.
