Gameday: Pirates go Gator hunting

A team that last week felt pressure from an undermatched Towson team will face the almighty attack from the Florida Gators tonight in their home nest.

The usual 90,000 fans should greet 1-0 East Carolina at 7 p.m. in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for a rematch of January’s Birmingham Bowl, a game the Gators coincidentally won by the same 28-20 count ECU felled the visiting Tigers by last week.

A slightly different version of the usual ECU offense was expected with first-year quarterback Blake Kemp and rookie offensive coordinator Dave Nichol, and the Pirates were true to form.
