After Saturday’s East Carolina football scrimmage that featured a 12-yard touchdown run by true freshman and local product Shawn Furlow, ECU offensive coordinator Dave Nichol remained non-committal as to whether Furlow will play in his first collegiate year or redshirt like most freshmen.
Nichol said there still is time to make that decision, but Furlow was a trendy name at preseason camp as a possible kick and/or punt returner who also could get carries out of the backfield.
